I for one would be happy to prance through station wearing said skirt and toting a blaster rifle.
Now, after watching the video, it rises a question. If we could shoot fellow pod pilots, how would death be handled? Surrender is still your slightly less painful option. |

If the pod connects you to your clones and transmits your data just before you die to activate those clones- every sensible capsuleer would store some kind of backup before leaving his pod. So if someone kills you outside your pod, your clone would activate as if you were killed the moment you left your pod.
But if we go by the lore, that is near impossible without frying your brain. Surrender is still your slightly less painful option. |

to the OP I ask this: what if guns are... MT based!
I for one would have sentry guns at the entrance to my quarters to help discourage that behavior.
If they make guns MT based, then there goes all my hard earned ISK.
If guns were to be added, then I would also like to see "non-lethal" weapons as will. Something like tasers, flashbangs, etc. I can just see it now, walk up to a group of newbies and drop a few flashbangs into the middle of them..... Surrender is still your slightly less painful option. |

Svaste wrote:IMO the lore should be that we never leave our pods. To access WiS and fighting in stations we would contol avatars that function like the medical hologram from ST Voyager. There should be some consequence for losing a hologram/avatar. ISK or SP or both at risk.
While I like the idea of having an avatar we can mindlink to from the comfort of our pod, why make it a hologram? I would much rather have the robotic body that the head of Richard Nixon had when he became president in Futurama.
The consequence should be the same as when you lose a T3 ship.
But TBH, if we have the ability to prance around the station with a weapon in hand, then I would rather do it in person. Let's see how many noobs I can take out before security can stop my murderest rampage. Surrender is still your slightly less painful option. |

That's right, so in theory if you're killed in station what you lose is the SP since your last "backup". i.e. in a pod, having a clone means your clone receives from the pod an automatic up-to-date backup of your brain state just prior to the moment of death, and that's what you rez with. In a station, without the pod doing that automatic backup, you will rez in your clone with the state of your last "backup". The question is, what's in the lore for "backups" that aren't the result of your dying in the pod? Does the pod auto-backup at set intervals? Depends on how "severe" the penalty should be. Most severe would be that you'd lose all SP since last clone upgrade. Least severe would be something like "auto-backup on station exit", so you'd lose the SP you would have accrued since the last time you exited a station? I think what ppl are saying about "equivalent to T3" is probably about right. Maybe a new skill, measuring "frequency of autobackups" - I being, say, from a week back, V being, say, from a day back?
How about this for a skill set:
1. a skill that increases the percent change to retain SP after out of pod death. Each level increases the change by 15% with a max of 75% at level 5. Make it at least a rank 3 skill.
2. a skill that decreases the amount of SP lost per level. Say each level decreases the amount by 15% with 75% max at level 5. Also make this at least a rank 3 skill.
Now; what is an acceptable amount of SP to set as the maximum potential lost? Surrender is still your slightly less painful option. |

Make the body twitch and squirm when this thing fires, and I'm sold.
Then add my skill set idea for when you get a head shot.... Surrender is still your slightly less painful option. |

Yeah, I think we understand that and have moved on, try harder. Surrender is still your slightly less painful option. |
